Introducing Jarod Throws
Throughout my career, I’ve tried to limit the randomness that comes with playing competitive sports. Why do some athletes seem to figure things out quicker than others? Why do some get the opportunity to play at the next level? As a kid, I just knew I wanted to play college baseball. I didn’t think playing professionally was really an option. Regardless, to even make it to college I knew I needed to get better, continue getting better, and maybe then I’d have a chance to play at the Division 1 level. My journey from high school to two different junior colleges to finally ending up at Dallas Baptist University and eventually being drafted by the Seattle Mariners wasn’t the smoothest sailing in the slightest- but certainly, it was worth it.
While I look forward to sharing my full journey with you one day, today marks a significant step in that direction. 'Jarod Throws' isn't just a blog or a training service; it's my way of giving back to the sport that has given me so much. Both the Blog and Online Training are fueled by my desire to help the next generation of athletes access all of the information I’ve picked up along the way. There are many tips, tricks, ideas, and conversations I wish I would’ve had earlier in my career and this is my way to pay it forward. Through my Online Training services, I hope to equip athletes with the insights I’ve used to eliminate the randomness.
As I embark on this exciting journey with 'Jarod Throws,' I can't help but reflect on the thoughts that fueled my own determination throughout my career. Does it have to be random and up to chance? Or can we organize the chaos a little to be in our favor? I certainly think we can. I believe this is an empowering idea for the athlete to entertain, that we can give ourselves the best chance to accomplish our goals. So if that’s you and you have a desire to get better and play at the next level I’d love to connect with you and see how I could help you achieve your goals.
Through Jarod Throws Online Training, my goal is to emphasize the joy of the game. After all, most of us fell in love with baseball because it's fun to play. And guess what? Training should be enjoyable too! I'm all about keeping the fun in the fundamentals. Moreover, I'm here to empower athletes to become their own "coach." Taking charge of your own journey is a giant stride toward long-term success, and it's intimately tied to reducing those unpredictable elements that can throw us off course. Lastly, I believe that training shouldn't just benefit us as athletes; it should enrich us as people too. I've learned that there's no real separation between myself as a baseball player and myself outside of baseball. Training should touch every aspect of our lives—physically, mentally, and emotionally. It's about holistic growth that extends beyond the field.
So, let's keep the fun alive, take the reins of our careers, and strive for growth that transcends the game. That's the essence of Jarod Throws, and I'm thrilled to have you on board for this exciting journey.
